Yin

All Levels:

Stretch your mind and your body. Yin embraces a series of long-held, passive poses. The poses are held for up to five minutes. Based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, opposite and complementary principles in nature. Yin is stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of things; yang changing, moving, revealing aspect. In the body, the relatively stiff connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia) are yin, while the more mobile and pliable muscles and blood are yang.

ASHTANGA

Level 2:

This class involves a method of yoga that synchronizes the breath with a progressive series of postures that build upon one another.  We practice the postures in the traditional Ashtanga practice with various modifications and use of props for a revitalizing and invigorating class. This practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body, detoxify the muscles and organs,  and improve circulation. Helps with focus, concentration, balance and strength.
